Chelsea Weaver

Senior Associate

Chelsea Weaver is a Senior Associate at ALM Law, where she represents survivors of abuse, children and families, and individuals whose civil and constitutional rights have been violated. Her practice focuses on trauma-informed advocacy for clients affected by sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, cyber sexual abuse, institutional misconduct, and other serious violations of trust and safety.

Chelsea has litigated cases involving child sexual abuse, abuse within educational and athletic institutions, civil rights violations, intimate image abuse, employment discrimination, domestic violence, and wrongful death. She has represented survivors in claims against schools, collegiate athletic programs, employers, governmental entities, and other institutions that failed to protect those in their care. Her work also includes representing clients in civil protection order proceedings and litigation arising from abuse in juvenile detention and rehabilitation settings.

Before joining ALM Law, Chelsea practiced at a boutique civil litigation firm in Columbus, Ohio, where she represented plaintiffs in complex state and federal litigation. She successfully opposed dispositive motions in a wide range of matters, including civil rights, employment discrimination,  institutional abuse, and wrongful death cases. She conducted and defended numerous depositions, led case strategy through all stages of litigation, managed complex investigations and e-discovery, and worked closely with experts and private investigators to develop and prove clients’ claims. She has obtained favorable results through strategic litigation and settlement and successfully argued before Ohio’s Tenth District Court of Appeals, securing a unanimous reversal in a wrongful death case involving an opioid overdose. Her work on several high-profile cases has also been featured in local and national television and print media.

Chelsea also served for three years as a law clerk to United States District Judge Kimberly A. Jolson of the Southern District of Ohio, where she worked on a broad range of constitutional and federal statutory matters. She began her legal career at Jones Day in Columbus, Ohio.

Before becoming an attorney, Chelsea was a middle school teacher. That experience continues to shape her work with children and families. She is committed to helping survivors be heard, holding institutions accountable, and guiding clients through some of the most difficult moments of their lives with compassion and determination.
